The $35 million, 6,000-member Platinum Federal Credit Union in Lilburn, Ga., said Android and iPhone users downloaded the credit union's new mobile app more than 100 times in the first week the service was offered.

The suburban Atlanta credit union is using Sharetec Mobile Banking from the provider of its Sharetec System core processing platform, Bradford-Scott Data Corp. of Indianapolis.

Mobile banking, using an app specifically designed for their smart phone, text banking, or a mobile browser, is quickly becoming a standard banking offering.  This allows credit unions like Platinum to be able to serve and reach their members wherever their mobile banking preference," said Kevin Kolar, vice president with Bradford-Scott.

Platinum FCU was founded in December 1999 to serve members of the Jubilee Association and said it now has branches in Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

Bradford-Scott is one of four owner/distributors of Sharetec, which now serves about 300 credit unions across the country.
