A member of Astera Credit Union has won the $100,000 grand prize in the 2011 Save to Win program.

“I am so happy that one of our long-time members is being rewarded for saving. We wish the winner all the best, and thank the Michigan Credit Union League for their dedication and cultivation of this great savings program,” said Margo Kleinfelt, CEO of the $148 million Astera in Lansing, Mich.

Save to Win is a credit union savings program coordinated by the Michigan league that encourages members to save money by offering prize rewards for their effort. According to the league, the program has grown to more than 16,500 savings accounts, with members in 43 credit unions across Michigan.

More information about the winning member will be released this week, according to Astera. A check presentation is scheduled for Thursday.
