For the Credit Union Association of New York "like" means a little more than "love" this Valentine's Day.

In a bid to build awareness of its newly revamped Facebook page, which provides a mix of updates, industry news, photos and exclusive tools and resources, the CUANY has launched a new You Don't Have to Love Us, Just Like Us! promotion.

Some of the new Facebook page features unveiled Tuesday include custom sections that offer a fresh look at the association's four core areas of service – Governmental Affairs, Regulatory Compliance, Education & Training and Outreach.

In addition, a new tab houses the association's blog and fans can now follow tweets from William Mellin, president/CEO, and Michael Lanotte, senior vice president, general counsel and lobbyist at CUANY.

"Social media has been a growing area of focus for the association, as I believe it has for all organizations," said Mellin. "We've watched its progression and have been evaluating how we can use social media to be of better service to our credit unions, build a real sense of community and offer an engaging social media destination for New York credit unions."

As part of the promotion there will be a drawing to win one of 50 custom-designed T-shirts.
