Who needs Batman or Ironman when there's the Pen Air Patrol?
The new team of local superheroes has swooped into the Pensacola, Fla., area to help save locals from “greedy hands of bad banks.”
Created as a way to promote the better banking of Pen Air Federal Credit Union, the superheroes can be spotted on billboards, comic books and even as life-sized stand ups in branches. In addition, plans are under way for the characters to make appearances at various local events.
Saying they were tired of getting “bilked by the big banks” through fees, reduced services and the end of reward programs, a group of former bank customers formed the Pen Air Patrol.
The full backstory of Money Maven, Debt-Free Diva, Captain Premier, Fee Crusher and The Funder can be found at the credit union's website and on Facebook, Twitter and the Pen Air Patrol blog.
According to David Tuyo, interim CEO at the $1.1 billion credit union, the superhero characters basically embody what staffers at PenAir FCU do every day.
“They are resourceful and will help guide members to the bright futures they deserve,” he said.
