Commonwealth Credit Union of Frankfort, Ky., has named financial veteran Karen C. Harbin as its president/CEO.
Harbin has seen the credit union grow during her 26-year tenure. It now has more than 82,800 members, $909 million in assets and 250 employees.
Harbin brings nearly 30 years of financial experience to her position at Commonwealth Credit Union. Prior to the position of president/CEO, she served as executive vice president, vice president of finance, and chief accountant. Her scope of responsibility has included oversight of the credit union's financial performance, portfolio and investment strategies, information technology, security and disaster recovery, strategic planning and forecasting and human resources.

Commonwealth Credit Union is an extraordinary financial institution, and I look forward to working with the board and our talented team of employees to take the credit union to even greater heights," Harbin said.
Prior to her service with Commonwealth Credit Union, Harbin worked for the Kentucky's Auditor of Public Accounts Office as a principal auditor. She is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, and she is a certified public accountant.
