TDECU Insurance Agency Inc. continues to grow.
The wholly owned subsidiary of the $1.7 billion Texas Dow Employees Credit Union in Lake Jackson, Texas, has recently purchased Associated Insurance Agency Inc. in Houston.
TDECU said the move is part of agency's strategic member-centric growth plan. Associated Insurance Agency has served the Houston business community for 17 years and represents more than 15 nationally recognized carriers which complement TDECU Insurance Agency's current carriers.
“Our combined agencies offer a member-centric approach to our clients,” said Wes Wolff, who was named the first president of TDECU Insurance Agency in August. “We put the needs of our members first, taking care to reduce their risk through proper coverage. That approach has worked well for our agencies and will continue to be our focus moving forward.”
TDECU Insurance Agency is one of four CUSOs the credit union recently put under one umbrella as part of its growth strategy. Recent mergers also were aimed at growth, especially into the Houston market.
