Visa USA has recognized the 61,000 member Purdue Federal Credit Union as having one of the best Visa card programs in the nation, the CU has reported.
The $680 million credit union's card program was recently ranked as the 94th top issuer in the country among 1,400 principal members of Visa that issue consumer credit cards.
Issuers are rated by growing portfolios through measuring number of accounts, purchase activity and balances. Purdue Federal's credit card program has steadily increased its ranking each quarter and was most recently ranked 99 in July, the CU added.
The West Lafayette, Ind., credit union reported over 26,800 accounts in its card portfolio to NCUA on Sept. 30 and its worth at over $52 million.
The CU issues the Purdue Alumni Association's affinity credit card, a contract that had previously been held by MBNA, the monoline card issuer that merged with Bank of America and became FIA Card Services.
The CU also said its card program is also endorsed as a Fair and Ethical Credit Card by CreditCardConnection.org, and the credit union's annual membership satisfaction survey found a 96.7 percent satisfaction level.
