Barkdull had shoulder surgery last year and worked with Goulding in his recovery. He also raised $1,400 for his chosen charity, the Wounded Warrior Project, by betting other Arizona CEOs that he could do the ride in under 2.5 hours. He made it in 2:27:28, Barkdull said.
