SACU CEO Jeff Farver was honored at a retirement event at the JW Marriott Resort in San Antonio earlier this month, an event that included the announcement of the Jeffrey H. Farver Endowed Scholarship to benefit Alamo Colleges students. Farver joined SACU in 1990 when the credit union was a $500 million institution struggling during a recession and slump in the oil industry. Today, SACU has $2.9 billion in assets with 18 locations in San Antonio and one in Houston.

“After working with Jeff Farver for more than two decades, I know how much he values education at all levels,” said SACU Board Chairman Frank Burk said. “I also recognize how much he values San Antonio and the opportunity he has had to be a leader in this community. This scholarship, therefore, blends his passion, reputation and love for San Antonio into one clear statement.”

The $100,000 gift is one of the largest endowed scholarships for the Alamo Colleges Foundation and will offer broad eligibility to recipients at all five Alamo Colleges.
