CU*Answers said eight more credit unions have bought stock in the CUSO, pushing the number of owners, all credit unions, to 101.

They are the $204 million Heartland CU of Springfield, Ill.; $76 million NorthStar CU of Warrenville, Ill.; $50 Lake Huron CU of Saginaw, Mich.; $50 million Birmingham-Bloomfield CU of Birmingham, Mich.; the $39 million EdCo Community CU and $35 million Des Moines Police Officers CU, both of Des Moines, Iowa; $47 million Advantage CU of Newton, Iowa; and $27 million Public Service CU of Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Grand Rapids, Mich., CUSO offers ownership to credit unions that use its CU*BASE core processing system.

Scott Page, CU*Answers executive vice president, said, “It speaks volumes for credit unions desiring to participate with their core processor in a unique, refreshing model. CU*Answers owners share in the CUSO's ongoing success in multiple ways, such as receiving a financial return on their data processing invoice, having a direct say in its future direction by being able to be nominated and/or vote for the CU*Answers Board of Directors and much more.”

CU*Answers said it now provides core processing and additional products and services to about 190 credit unions in 24 states.
