The $927 million FORUM Credit Union has named its longtime chief technologist Doug True as its next CEO.
True has been with FORUM for more than 20 years, most recently in the role in chief lending and technology officer. He was the architect of the TAPS lending system and helped create FORUM Solutions, a subsidiary that marketed the software until the solution was sold to another company in 2008.
True also was an original member of the Filene i3 group and led the development of ignite Indiana, an innovation program for credit union professionals in the state.

He succeeds Gary Irvin, who retired at the end of last year as the CEO of the 105,000-member FORUM. True's selection follows a national search, its board said.
"He excelled at all stages of the selection process and was the consensus choice from a group of highly qualified candidates. Doug brings a creative energy and contagious enthusiasm to the entire organization," said John Dierdorf, board chairman.
"As we approach our 70th year, the FORUM team is preparing a number of exciting new services to be rolled out in 2012. I recognize that consumers have numerous options for financial services, and in this role I am committed to making sure FORUM is an option that will provide value and trust," True said.
FORUM CU is based in the Indianapolis suburb of Fishers, Ind., and has nearly 300 employees and 12 branches.
