The $1.1 billion Meriwest Credit Union said the new version of its mobile banking app for iPhones and Androids was downloaded more than 2,500 times in the first four weeks after it was released on Oct. 14.
The San Jose, Calif., credit union said the upgraded versions provide more transaction history details and transfer options, branch and ATM locators, built-in financial tools and enhanced usability, and was provided by Access Softek.
Meriwest said its first iPhone app was introduced in March 2010. The 83,000-member credit union said it currently has more than 7,800 mobile users across all the platforms it offers for that channel.
"We will continue to develop enhancements and upgrades to support our mobile users. Coming soon will be enhanced bill pay integration, remote deposit capture and additional transactional and navigation enhancements," said Tony Cortez, vice president of marketing at Meriwest, whose membership is open to anyone who works or lives in the Greater Bay Area.
