Occupy Albany in New York protested outside of Bank of America branches Saturday urging consumers to consider credit unions like the $2.2 billion State Employees Credit Union in Albany, the Times Union reported.
Credit Union Times contacted SEFCU but the credit union was not open Saturday. A call to organizers with Occupy Albany had not yet been returned.
Meanwhile, Occupy Wall Street organizers planned to hold an all-day Credit Union Forum Sunday to educate the public on the financial institutions, a local media outlet reported.
Occupy Miami, which has also promoted the use of credit unions, was planning a music festival this evening.
