Add the African American Credit Union Coalition to the list of organizations that is supporting Carla Leon-Decker's nomination to the NCUA board.

The AACUC said it is “proud to announce its approval and support of President Barack Obama's nomination” of Leon-Decker “and we congratulate her on this outstanding achievement.”

Leon-Decker is a member of the AACUC, according to the coalition.

She is slated to replace NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland, whose six-year term officially expired in August but will continue until Leon-Decker is seated. She is currently serving as president/CEO of the $47 million District Government Employees Federal Credit Union in Washington.

NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz, NCUA Board Member Michael Fryzel and Hyland have all expressed support for Leon-Decker as well as CUNA and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
