CO-OP Financial Services said it's now accepting applications from credit unions for matches for the 2012 CO-OP Miracle Match program benefitting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

The Miracle Match program, now entering its fifth year, calls for the big CUSO to put up $1 million in matches to funds raised by individual credit unions through Credit Unions for Kids events.

This year, the company expects 150 credit unions from 39 states to have participated, including a record 42 first-time fundraising events held by sponsoring credit unions.

Proceeds go to local hospitals in the Children's Miracle Network and the credit union industry, CO-OP said, is currently the third-largest contributor.

"The credit union industry is model for all industries in its mobilizing for a charitable cause. We are looking forward again to supporting credit unions in this important work in their local communities,"  said Stan Hollen, president/CEO of the 3,000-member CUSO in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and a member of the Board of Governors of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Applications for the match are online.
