The $551 million Consumers Credit Union in Waukegan, Ill., said it plans to soon offer merchant, home and mobile remote deposit capture to its 55,000 members.

Consumers CU said it also plans to include outsourced branch item capture in its deployment of software solutions from Atlanta-based VSoft Corp.

Sean Rathjen, president and CEO of Consumers CU, said, “The RDC products are able to accommodate both our current needs and long-term objectives.”

The RDC solutions will allow checks to be captured and transmitted using any smartphone or tablet device.

Consumers was one of the first credit unions to commit to the new Acumen core processing solution from Fiserv Inc. Rathjen said VSoft has been working closely with Consumers during the conversion.

VSoft said it now serves approximately 1,500 credit unions, 90 through direct installations and the rest as data center customers and through reseller agreements.
