The $2.4 billion Tower FCU in Laurel, Md., has rolled out a mobile Web banking service that allows its 122,000 members to bank through any Internet-enabled device.
Functionality includes account balances, transactions, transfers, bill pay, rates, loan payments and ATM and branch locators.
“It's like having a Tower branch in the palm of your hand,” said Martin Breland, president/CEO at Maryland's largest credit union.
The same logon as home banking is used and encryption and not storing private data on the mobile device help enhance security.
Tower, which has 11 branches in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard and Prince George's counties and five branches at Fort Meade, also recently added online personal financial management options.
