Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), who continues to call for an increase in the member business lending cap, will be one of the speakers at NACUSO's Business Services Connection next month.

The Small Business Credit Enhancement Act (HR 1418) was introduced by Royce and includes a provision that would increase the MBL limit to 27.5% of assets from the current 12.25%.

NACUSO said Royce will answer questions and listen to concerns as he continues to fight for the passage of HR 1418 and expanded small business lending powers for credit unions and CUSOs.

Royce is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and chairman of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade. He is also a senior member of the Financial Services Committee where he sits on the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee.

In addition, several NCUA officials will be at the NACUSO business services forum to answer questions about business lending regulations and the exam process, among other topics. The agency will be represented by Matt Biliouris, director of supervision, Christie Loizos, staff attorney of business lending issues, and Vin Vieten, MBL program officer.

The NACUSO Business Services Connection will take place Oct. 18-20 at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina.
