David Snodgrass will take over as the new president/CEO of the $1.6 billion Lake Trust Credit Union in late October.
The Lansing, Mich., credit union said Snodgrass, now executive vice president/chief strategy officer at the $2.1 billion Affinity FCU in Basking Ridge, N.J., has been chosen by the Lake Trust board to succeed CEO Stephan Winninger and President William Thiess.
Both are retiring after leading the creation of the 153,000-member Lake Trust through the 2010 merger of Thiess' Detroit Edison CU and Winninger's NuUnion CU.
"We've been lucky enough to have two great leaders in Steve and Bill for the past couple of decades, and now in David Snodgrass we're confident we have another great leader," said Larry Lehman, chair of Lake Trust's board.
"David will bring great ideas and support to the Lake Trust membership. He is an inspiring innovator and masterful strategist, and strongly believes in community support," Lehman said. "He's been recognized throughout the credit union industry and is well respected by members and his peers."
Snodgrass is a member of the NAFCU Legislative Committee and chairman of the Credit Union Executive Society's New Jersey Council.
"Lake Trust Credit Union has a treasured, meaningful past and an exciting and bright future," Snodgrass said. "This is an important time for Lake Trust, and I look forward to serving the members of Lake Trust and getting to know the team at Lake Trust."
