Online payments startup Dwolla from Des Moines, Iowa, will be using Ongoing Operations LLC for infrastructure hosting, the companies said.
Dwolla's integrated P2P, mobile and social payments platform is in use at two Iowa credit unions now. The state's largest, the $1.4 billion Veridian CU, said it, too, plans to use Dwolla's services. The company launched in 2010 and received $1 million in investment money from The Members Group and The Veridian Group, both Iowa CUSOs.
“Dwolla is an innovative new kind of payment network that provides both security and freedom to its users, so logically we were looking for similar qualities in a hosting partner,” said Dwolla's chief operating officer, Charise Flynn.
Ongoing Operations is a Hagerstown, Md., CUSO launched five years ago and now serving approximately 140 credit unions and their vendors. It offers business continuity, disaster recovery and other secured hosting solutions through its Maryland base as well as facilities in Virginia, Arizona and Colorado.
“Our data centers were built with credit unions' unique requirements in mind and as we expand our product lines, our focus on security and redundancy remains,” said Kirk Drake, its CEO.
