The NCUA has launched a Spanish version of its MyCreditUnion.gov consumer website.
The English site was launched in March. The agency said the translated site is part of its continuing effort to reach Spanish-speaking consumers.
Both sites include information about saving, borrowing, managing credit, how to get a free credit report each year, and how to join or even start a credit union. Pointers on how to resolve member complaints also are posted.
They also reinforce the message that deposits are safe and protected up to $250,000, the agency said.
The NCUA Board's board member of Hispanic origin, Gigi Hyland, said, "The site provides critical information for Hispanic consumers to understand the nature of credit unions and the services they offer. The site also offers a wealth of resources and information to enhance consumer financial capability and education. ¡Bien hecho!"
