CUNA Mutual Group said it is adding to its lending compliance division through the newly created position of compliance manager, lending service products.

The new position will focus on compliance involving lending, deposit laws and regulations.

Anneke Diem has been hired for the new role. She served as an associate attorney in the Corporate Services Group of Quarles & Brady LLP in Chicago.

Diem also worked directly with financial institutions on regulatory compliance matters, capital raising and strategic acquisitions and dispositions, CUNA Mutual said.

Diem earned a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Iowa.

Bill Klewin, director of regulatory compliance at CUNA Mutual, said Diem's experience with community banks will help the company enhance the advice and resources it provides to credit unions.

“Regulatory compliance issues in credit union lending will only continue to increase over the next few years. Strengthening our staff with the addition of Anneke Diem allows us to do more to help credit unions navigate through these complex compliance issues,” Klewin said.
