There's a new president/CEO at Lion's Share Federal Credit Union.

Mark Curran, former senior vice president of business development at item processing CUSO Palmetto Cooperative Services in Columbia, S.C., has been tapped to lead the Salisbury, N.C.-based credit union.

Prior to joining the CUSO, the credit union veteran with more than 15 years of branch operations experience at Coastal Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C., also served as a senior account manager with the CUNA Mutual Group.

Curran is a graduate of the Southeast CUNA Management School, where he was elected by his peers as the president of the class of 1991. He also holds the Certified Credit Union Executive designation. Curran earned his bachelor's degree from Radford University in Virginia.

Curran succeeds John McGrail, who has become president of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.

Lion's Share FCU has more than $30 million in assets and about 10,500 members and serves employees and their family members of Delhaize America, including Food Lion and Reid's grocery stores.
