Once again, executives at the $1.8 billion Travis Credit Union in Vacaville, Calif., left the office, bought supplies and headed out for a day of hands-on volunteer service, in this case painting a transition house at Mission Solano. The workday wrapped up a multi-day leadership planning retreat for the credit union. “Volunteering in the community is part of our promise to be an active and supportive community partner,” said Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, president/CEO of the 185,000-member Travis CU.  “This year’s community service project, made a difference in the lives of the individuals who currently live in Mission Solano’s transitional housing.  It was a very worthwhile project.” In previous years, the credit union did work for Habitat for Humanity and the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.
