For the third consecutive year, the $44 billion Navy Federal Credit Union has been selected as one of Florida's 100 best companies to work for.
Florida Trend magazine named the Vienna, Va.-based credit union to its 2011 Best Companies to Work for in Florida list. With more than 1,850 employees throughout the Sunshine State, Navy Federal said it continues to grow with 18 branch offices and the expansion of the Brian L. McDonnell Center at Heritage Oaks in Pensacola, Fla.
"We are honored to be selected for the third consecutive year," said Cutler Dawson, president/CEO of Navy Federal. "The dedication of our employees significantly contributes to the high quality of service we provide to our members worldwide."

The companies that chose to participate in being recognized in Florida underwent a two-part survey that consisted of evaluating each company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, according to the credit union. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure employee satisfaction. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
Debbie Calder, senior vice president of Navy Federal's Greater Pensacola Operations, said, "Our employees mention intangibles, such as respect, trust and fairness when talking about our work environment, and we know that is key to our success. This award speaks to our employees' enthusiasm about growing their careers here."
Meanwhile, another cooperative made Florida Trend's best company list too – the $1.5 billion, Orlando-based FAIRWINDS Credit Union.
