Rep. David Wu (D-Ore.), announced his resignation today, after being accused of having a sexual encounter with an 18-year old woman.
Wu, who had said that any encounter was consensual, said his resignation will take effect after Congress deals with the debt-ceiling crisis.
CUNA's political action committee gave his campaign $5,000 during the 2010 cycle.
Wu, 56, will be the fourth member of Congress to quit Congress this year because of a sexual indiscretions.
Sen. John Ensign (R- Nev.) resigned after questions were raised about payments made to his former mistress; Rep. Christopher Lee (R-N.Y.) resigned after sending a shirtless photo of himself to a woman via Craig's List; Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) resigned after sending sexually explicit photos of himself via the internet.
