Dort Federal Credit Union announced the death of longtime Board Director Leroy Nesbit Jr., who died at the age of 63.

A great advocate and strong voice for the working people of Flint, Mich., Nesbit lived the credit union philosophy in both his personal and professional life, the credit union said. During his tenure on the Dort Federal board of directors, he also served on numerous boards and committees, including World Council of Credit Unions, African American Credit Union Coalition, the Combined Council of Automotive Credit Unions and the Council of GM Credit Unions. Locally, Nesbit volunteered his time to enhance the Greater Flint community through his membership in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, the Flint Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Michigan Travel Commission, and the Disability Network.
