Given the economy, fundraising at local charities has been challenging, so a recent generous donation delivered personally by Dennis Cutter, president/CEO at Numerica Credit Union, has been a welcome surprise.
During a road trip around Spokane, the head of the Spokane Valley, Wash.-based credit union made stops at five different non-profit organizations and presented them each $5,000.
The lucky recipients included the Women's & Children's Free Restaurant, Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Union Gospel Mission, The Hutton Settlement, and the American Childhood Cancer Organization.
According to Cutter, who's retiring soon after 40 years at the helm of the $1.1 billion Numerica, spending an afternoon hand-delivering donations to organizations that do so much to serve the community, is just the credit union way.
