The $130 million Burbank Community Federal Credit Union has changed its name to UMe Federal Credit Union.
Derived from the words You + Me, the move is designed to embody the personal service the Burbank, Calif., credit union has always delivered to members, the credit union said.
The new branding, which includes a new website, signage and printed material, also captures and reinforces the credit union's focus on innovation to provide members a smarter approach to banking, the 12,000-member credit union said.
"We wanted to show the community that we are a fresh, vibrant and affordable alternative to the many banking choices they have available to them today," said Anita McLendon, vice president of marketing at UMe. "We think differently than other financial institutions; our relationship with our members is everything to us, and our new name reflects that attitude."
Formed as a Burbank teacher's credit union in 1940, over the past 71 years, UMe's charter has expanded to serve anyone who lives, works, goes to school, worships, volunteers, or belongs to an association in the city of Burbank.
