Public Service Credit Union has literally brought banking to its members in suburban Detroit.
The $134 million Romulus, Mich., credit union said its new branch on wheels marks the first mobile CO-OP Services shared branch in the nation.
The truck’s onboard ATM and full service branch can serve both its members and those of other credit unions that are part of the CO-OP Services shared branch network.
In addition to having the ATM and teller window open at its debut on Friday, PSCU handed out flags, beach balls, popcorn and gift cards to help credit union members get a jump on the holiday weekend.
Plans for the mobile branch include festivals, events, schools and driving the branch to businesses the 24,000-member PSCU has partnered with on their paydays for employees to have easy access to financial services.
