STCU Credit Union has tapped 30-year banking veteran Michael Ostowski as its new president/CEO.

Prior to joining the Springfield, Mass.-based credit union, Ostowski served as senior vice president of lending at Barre Savings Bank. He steps in for William Brothers, who will retired last month.

Ostrowski's experience has spanned from lending and branch administration to senior management. He previously served for eight years as vice president/chief lending officer at Freedom Credit Union and has also held positions with Ludlow Savings Bank, Multibank, United Co-Operative Bank and Pioneer Financial Co-Operative Bank.

Ostrowski holds a bachelor's degree from Springfield College and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has completed additional studies at Fairfield University Center for Financial Studies and the Massachusetts Bankers Association School of Commercial Lending.

"We are very pleased to welcome Michael Ostrowski as STCU's new president and CEO," said Board Chairman Norman Halls. "With his extensive banking and management experience, he is the perfect choice to lead STCU during these challenging economic times."
