Financial Management Solutions Inc. said it has deployed its Teller Management System software at the $344 million Global Credit Union of Spokane, Wash.

The TMS software provides reporting and scheduling information used to make staffing decisions that maximize the efficient use of teller time, the company said.

"Before making any changes to our front-line staffing approach, we needed a teller reporting and scheduling solution that would allow us to maintain our world-class member service and improve our productivity," said the 13-branch, 49,000-member credit union's vice president of operations, Yvonne Holland.

Improving staffing decisions is a way to improve the bottom line in the face of economic and regulatory pressures, according to FMSI of Alpharetta, Ga.

"Adjusting teller staffing models is a prime area for improved efficiencies yet most institutions don't have the information or resources at hand to make this kind of complex adjustment in thinking," said W. Michael Scott, president of FMSI. He said his 21-year-old company now has the software in place at hundreds of credit union branches.
