Next Wednesday, the Iowa Credit Union League will host its first-ever Gen Y Summit.

On June 15, some 75 attendees will head to Iowa City to gain some insight and tips on how to effectively reach the Gen Y market.

"Many Iowa credit unions have implemented some creative strategies to reach and retain younger Iowans," said Patrick S. Jury, president/CEO of the Iowa Credit Union League. "This conference will bring together credit union representatives from across the state to collaborate and brainstorm new ideas and tactics they can implement in their own community." Brent Dixon, youth adviser at the Filene Research Institute, will kick off the event by discussing what the Gen Y market wants from their financial institutions and will share examples of credit unions that have been successful in reaching this demographic.

In addition, Charise Flynn of Dwolla will help attendees understand how the social payment network can be integrated into their strategies to reach the Gen Y market.

Representatives from Iowa's Affinity Credit Union, Collins Community Credit Union, Des Moines Police Officers Credit Union and Linn Area Community Credit Union will also sit on a panel to share their best practices.
