The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation has named John McGrail as its new president/CEO.
A 22-year veteran of the credit union movement, McGrail has served the past 11 years as president/CEO of Lion's Share Federal Credit Union in Salisbury, N.C.
He has also served on the North Carolina Credit Union League board of directors since 2005 and the supervisory committee for First Carolina Corporate Credit Union, in addition to being active in many other industry affiliations.
“John has demonstrated himself to be a talented leader with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for our industry,” said John Carlson, chairman at CCUF. “He brings to the foundation a new vision and a sense of excitement for credit unions' futures. He is committed to the cooperative efforts of credit unions in North Carolina and South Carolina and working together today to make for a better tomorrow by helping people help themselves. Under his leadership, the foundation will continue to assist Carolina credit unions in promoting the credit union difference.”
