The $1.6 billion Summit Credit Union in Madison, Wis., has launched a new website, with a focus on life, relationships and health along with personal finances.

The new site emphasizes social networking with sections titled "Life", "Community" and "Money" and a place for business members to post contact information, descriptions and links. New articles will be added regularly and a "Groups" section allows people to join with others sharing the same interests, Summit said.

The site also "has a fresh, more vibrant look and feel, with brighter colors, rounded elements and real images of people interacting," the credit union said.

The new site was designed by L9 of Barre, Vt., and based on research of the 119,000-member credit union's target audience of women and young adults.

"We are really excited about the new website and hope it appeals to a wide range of Summit members," said Kim Sponem, Summit's president/CEO.  "We've always encouraged people to look at finances as an integral part of everyday life and the new site will help our members do that in a hands-on, interactive way."

Summit CU is open to membership to anyone in Wisconsin and has 24 locations in and around Madison and Milwaukee.
