Redwood Credit Union of Santa Rosa, Calif. helped raise $11,600 for local nonprofit organizations at the 30th annual Human Race charity events. The $1.9 billion institution provided sponsorship for separate races in Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino counties. Sixty-seven volunteers from the credit union formed three teams to participate in the races. Reddy the Redwood, the credit union's mascot, paused during his charity walk in Sonoma to pose for pictures with local children. Sponsored by the counties' volunteer centers, the Human Race invites participants to collect pledges and walk or run a 3K or 10K course to raise money for the local nonprofit of their choice.
