Passageways LLC, a provider of portal-based solutions, held its sixth-annual PowWOW conference recently in Indianapolis, where bank and credit union professionals shared best practices, viewed presentations and enjoyed scheduled entertainment.

Following a keynote presentation by Passageways founders about developments within the CUSO, credit union and community bank leaders were given the chance to present their institutions' best practices in a competition.

The $750 million Motorola Employees Credit Union of Schaumburg, Ill. won first place for its practice of using an employee portal for new hire integration, the company said.

The $1.7 billion Sandia Laboratory Credit Union of Albuquerque was first runner-up for its use of an integrated member feedback system on a portal.

Eighteen Passageways customers became certified in portal administration or in using the employee portal suite during the conference, the company said. Guests of the PowWOW conference were entertained by comedy skits, karaoke and a stand-up comedian.

Passageways said it has delivered more than 200 portals to credit unions, community banks, hospitals, insurance companies and CUSOs since it was founded in 2003 as a CUSO of the $665 million Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union in West Lafayette, Ind.
