The Golden 1 Credit Union held a large community shred day event recently, handling 2,850 cars and shredding 151,000 pounds of confidential documents. The event was advertised on the Sacramento credit union's website and through news advisories. A video on the credit union's Facebook page presents an aerial view of the event in time-lapse format, inset with members' comments. The Golden 1 has $7.7 billion in assets and hosts two such shred day events every year, shredding over 597,000 pounds of documents for recycling since 2006.
