The NCUA has added counties in Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee and parishes in Louisiana to its disaster response efforts as a result of the Obama administration's additional declarations of disaster areas following the recent tornadoes and storms.
In Iowa, the effected areas are Buena Vista, Cherokee, Ida, Monona, Pocahontas and Sac counties.
The effected areas in Kentucky are: Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Carter, Fleming, Gallatin, Kenton, Lawrence, Morgan, Nicholas, Oldham, Owen and Washington counties.

In Louisiana, the Obama administration has declared disaster areas in Avoyelles, Ascension, Assumption, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Iberia, Iberville, LaSalle, Madison, Pointe Coupee, East Baton Rouge, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Tensas, Terrebonne, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana parishes.
In Mississippi the effected counties are Adams, Bolivar, Claiborne, Coahoma, DeSoto, Issaquena, Jefferson, Tunica, Warren, Washington and Wilkinson.
In Tennessee, the counties are Dyer, Lake, Shelby and Stewart.
Under the agency's disaster assistance policy, it can: guarantee lines of credit for credit unions in affected areas via the NCUSIF; encourage credit unions to make loans with special terms and reduced documentation to affected members; reschedule routine examinations of affected credit unions if necessary; and make loans to meet the liquidity needs of member credit unions through the Central Liquidity Facility.
