Fiserv Inc. has named Mark Sievewright as the new president of its Credit Union Solutions division.

He succeeds Scott Butler, who joined the company when it bought the IntegraSys core processing operation from EDS in 2003. Fiserv now provides core processing to more than 2,500 credit unions and other services to thousands more.

Sievewright is a well-known figure in the credit union industry who joined Fiserv in 2004 as corporate senior vice president of market development for the Brookfield, Wis., company's Depository Institutions Group.

Prior to that, he had spent five years as president of the TowerGroup research and advisory firm. He also has held senior positions at HSBC, MasterCard International and Payment Systems Inc., the company said.

Sievewright received the Ambassador award from the World Council of Credit Unions in 2010. "Given his range of experience and expertise, Mark is uniquely qualified to succeed Scott and to further the strategies and initiatives Fiserv is pursuing to serve its clients," Fiserv said.

"(Butler) has made a personal decision to spend more time with his family and will evaluate career options at a point in the future. Scott has been a key member of the Fiserv leadership team since Fiserv acquired EDS's credit union business (IntegraSys) in 2003," the company said.

Sievewright said, "As we move forward as an organization, we will continue to focus on enabling our clients' success. By leveraging our collective expertise, we'll provide our clients with the tools they need to navigate the social, economic, regulatory and technology changes at work in their markets."
