NCUA to Review Rules on BSA Compliance and Debt Collection

Rules ranging from debt collection to compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act will be part of the NCUA’s annual review of its regulations.

The effectiveness of rules ranging from debt collection to compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the Freedom of Information Act will be part of the NCUA’s annual review of one third of its regulations.

The agency announced that it will be accepting written comments through Aug. 5 on topics such as reporting suspicious activities, making loans to areas at risk of flooding, the procedures for requesting information from the agency, rules on preserving records, debt collection practices and post-employment restrictions for certain NCUA examiners.
