Shaw Air Force Employees Federal Credit Union recently visited an economics class at a local high school to help students and parents open their own savings accounts. SAFE FCU financial planner Robin Jones (pictured right) discussed the benefits of a savings account with Kayla Jacobs, a junior in Hannah Johnson's Accounting II class at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, S.C.
Jones and the credit union's Mandy Baibak visited the class to help students and parents open their own savings accounts. As an incentive, the credit union funded everyone's initial deposit.
