The $800 million Workers' Credit Union is the latest in the industry to be recognized by the Small Business Administration for its lending activity.

Anne Rice Hunt, assistant district director for the SBA, recently presented Workers' CU in Fitchburg, Mass. with an award for its small business lending volume for the quarter ending Dec. 31, 2010. The credit union processed 10 SBA loans representing more than $2 million during the fourth quarter, according to the agency. That distinction placed Workers' among the top 15 SBA lenders in Massachusetts.

Founded in 1914, Workers' serves more than 67,000 members. The credit union is a co-owner of Northeast Member Business Services LLC in Keene, N.H.
