National Grid, which serves 3.3 million electricity customers and 3.4 million natural gas customers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island, has added the e-Bill Distribution service from Fiserv Inc.

E-bills contain the same information as paper bills, are delivered directly to the online banking site and are stored there for 12 months or longer. The service allows National Grid customers to review their bill online, select payment dates and use features such as e-mail due date reminders, if their financial institution is one of more than 3,000 nationally on the Fiserv bill pay network.

“Delivering bills to financial institution sites is an important complement to our existing billing capabilities, and helps enhance customer satisfaction,” said Jeff Martin, director of billing and systems at National Grid.

“Now that National Grid has joined the Fiserv network of more than 400 billers, they can provide added convenience to customers who choose to view and pay their bills at their financial institution website,” said Jardon Bouska, president of biller solutions at Fiserv.
