Seeking to provide a one-stop source for consumer and credit union information, the NCUA today launched mycreditunion.gov. The site contains information on credit unions in general, NCUSIF coverage of credit union accounts, mortgages and credit card debt.
"The best way for consumers to protect their money and to get the best financial deal is to learn the most that they can about financial products and services before signing on the dotted line," NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz said in a statement.
There is also a section on how to resolve complaints about particular credit unions.
The site is part of the agency's outreach efforts and is being launched during National Consumer Protection Week. It is run by the agency's Office of Consumer Protection.
