Discover cardholders can now pay their bills through a link on their credit union or bank's online banking site if it happens to be one of 3,000 credit unions and banks on the Fiserv bill pay network.
An icon will appear on the site offering them a paperless, electronic version of their statement and the ability to sign up for the service. Consumers can then schedule bill payments and sign up for additional services such as e-mail reminders.
"The time is right for companies to expand their customers' billing options with e-bills," said Jardon Bouska, division president for Biller Solutions at Fiserv in Brookfield, Wis.

The company said that its 2010 Fiserv Billing Household Survey showed that e-bill recipients are more satisfied with, and loyal to, both the company that sends the bill and the financial institution where it is received.
Consumers can find out if their financial institution is part of the Fiserv bill payment network at www.eBillPlace.com.
