San Antonio Federal Credit Union Chief Operating Officer Stephen S. Hennigan has been named president of the more than $2.9 billion credit union.

Jeffrey H. Farver, former president, will continue to serve as CEO until his retirement, slated for Jan. 2, 2012.

Hennigan, who began his career at SACU in 1993, has been credited with being integral in helping create the CUSO Credit Union Factory Built Lending, which is now a division of SACU and provides financing options for credit union members choosing manufactured housing as an alternative to traditional site-built homes.

Named NAFCU's Credit Union Professional of the Year in 2008, Hennigan has a BBA in finance and accounting from St. Mary's University in San Antonio and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
