The $1 billion Numerica Credit Union in Spokane, Wash., has launched mobile banking for smart phones and other Web-enabled devices.
The credit union's 87,000 members can use applications they download from the Android Market or Apple App Store or use their device's browser to view transactions, transfer funds or find a branch or ATM. Up to five mobile devices can be registered to an account.
The mobile service uses SSL encryption, and multi-factor authentication will be required the first time a user logs in through the credit union's home banking service.
