House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will speak at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference, the trade association announced today.
Boehner, a former small businessman, is scheduled to speak during the March 2 session of the conference.
Boehner, who became speaker earlier this month as a result of the GOP gaining a majority in the House in last November's election, will outline his legislative priorities for the upcoming Congress. He would be the second house speaker to address a GAC. Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) did so in 1998.

Other lawmakers speaking at the event include House Financial Services Committee Chairman Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) and that panel's top Democrat Barney Frank (D-Mass.). All three NCUA Board members are scheduled to speak at the conference, as is Elizabeth Warren, who is leading the set up of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The conference runs from Feb. 27 to March 3.
