Passageways LLC said it signed 40 new users of its portal solutions in 2010, including banks and credit unions across the United States and in Canada, Barbados and even one in Moscow, Russia.

The West Lafayette, Ind., CUSO said those new customers are now using various combinations of its employee, board, vendor management and disaster recovery portals.

Among 2010 upgrades was a social networking function that provides newsfeeds, profiles, follows and "like" buttons and the November launch of a collaborative client community portal that now is used by more than 150 people from 75 organizations, the company said.

The company said it now has 215 customers, including 180 credit unions, and that overall, there are approximately 400 credit unions and 200 banks using its community portals. Six new employees also were added in 2010, bringing the workforce to 31, according to Paroon Chadha, vice president and co-founder.

The company also said its 2011 users conference will be held May 10-12 in Indianapolis. Passageways was founded in 2003 as a CUSO of the $620 million Purdue Employees FCU.
